We have the technology...sort of.

Tonight we "Caitierigged" a drop spindle with a pencil, a paperclip, an old game CD, and some rubber bands.

Then we washed & carded some locks that we pinched off Hazel-the-goat & then some of Ollie-the alpaca's cria cut fleece...and well, we spun it.

Caitie is fascinated, & wants to spin more--a lot more! I couldn't be happier about this. This was just an experiment that worked out well.

So she knitted little swatches: the mohair is on the left, alpaca on the right.

I think I just recruited another rabid fiber fan :)
