What's not to love about this kid?

Seriously, these photos of carefree summer days at the lake remind me to enjoy life.
We recently went through a cancer scare with Dew, who had two small masses show up on his left lung in a CT Scan. A dark and terrifying time for my small tribe.

So he's officially off the smokes. He was a 2-pack-a-day-die-hard-smoker. He is using Nicorette patches, and shelling pounds of sunflower seeds. Some days I want to rip his arm out of the socket and bludgeon him with it. Some days I think he'll simply beat me to the punch by chewing his entire arm off himself, starting at the fingernails.

But...he has his family. His hard-earned business. His home, farm and animals. He has friends. The boat. So much to live for. And this is what it looks like to know you've dodged a bullet:
