My Field of Dreams

Blog prompt: You can tell a lot about a woman by how she grooms her fingernails. Tell us how yours look today.

My hands are short-nailed, but filed. Cuticles aren't ragged, but could use some moisturizer. Farmhands. Utilitarian. I always said I couldn't live without my eyes or my hands.

I can grow nails, but only in the winter. Summer means I'm going to bend one of my nails all the way back while scrubbing watering buckets, catching animals, weeding the garden or performing any of the myriad duties that country life requires.

Come the winter, though...I adore rich handcreams and OPI nail lacquer. Makes it a pleasure to do handcrafts if my hands and nails feel nice.
