Just an animal update, as I have been remiss in my blog postings...
Everyone is still thriving. Frankly, I think they're relieved to be done with the heat and humidity.
The white alpaca, Ollie, has been giving kisses lately. He's the alpha male of the two, and curious. He likes to sniff my head if I kneel...eventually his muzzle will make its way close enough for an air kiss. Also, he actually enjoys being handfed his grain.
The medium brown alpaca, Ringo, runs to greet me when I enter the pasture. He prefers I keep a respectful distance, though. He loves his grain.
The goats are the pushier--especially Hazel. She has lately taken to climbing the golfcart and making her way into the bed, where I keep the grain. These beasts definitely have intelligence and memory.
